ITINERARY

 

DAY 1 – SUNDAY JOHANNESBURG
Arrive Johannesburg International Airport. Transfer to hotel.


DAY 2 – MONDAY JOHANNESBURG - MPUMALANGA
Depart Johannesburg after breakfast for Mpumalanga Province. Scenery includes Blyde River Canyon and God’s Window. Overnight near Hazyview. [BD]


DAY 3 – TUESDAY MPUMALANGA - KRUGER PARK - MPUMALANGA
Early morning game drive in Kruger National Park with packed breakfast. Search for ‘Big Five’. Enjoy prolific birdlife and numerous other game. Afternoon at leisure at hotel. Late afternoon or night open-vehicle game drives available (optional and for own account). [B]


DAY 4 – WEDNESDAY MPUMALANGA
Early morning coffee or tea. Depart on open vehicle game drive through Kruger National Park with pre-packed breakfast. Return to hotel for afternoon. Late afternoon or night open-vehicle game drives available (optional and for own account). [BD]


DAY 5 – THURSDAY MPUMALANGA - SWAZILAND
Early breakfast, travel to Swaziland and visit glass factory and renown Swazi candle factory. Check in at hotel. Late afternoon at leisure, or visit a nearby craft market. Overnight in Swaziland. [B]


DAY 6 – FRIDAY SWAZILAND - ZULULAND
After breakfast, re-enter South Africa. Arrive at traditional Zulu village for lunch and show displaying local culture. Travel to Hluhluwe for dinner and overnight. [FB]
NB: Certain departures may overnight at Itala Game Reserve.


DAY 7 – SATURDAY ZULULAND - DURBAN
Last opportunity for game drive before continuing to Durban. Arrive in Durban early afternoon. Overnight in Durban. [B]


DAY 8 – SUNDAY DURBAN
Day at leisure in Durban (unescorted). Opportunity for optional Day Excursion (own account). [B]


DAY 9 – MONDAY DURBAN - PORT ELIZABETH
Transfer for Port Elizabeth flight. On arrival, transfer to hotel. Remainder of day at leisure. Overnight in Port Elizabeth. [BD]


DAY 10 – TUESDAY PORT ELIZABETH - KNYSNA
Depart for Tsitsikamma Mountains and indigenous forests. Afternoon at leisure at hotel. Overnight in Knysna. [B]


DAY 11 – WEDNESDAY KNYSNA
Leisurely start. Lagoon cruise to Featherbed Nature Reserve, trailer ride to top of Western Head, and walk back through milkwood trees for lunch (included).Overnight in Knysna. [BL]


DAY 12 – THURSDAY KNYSNA - OUDTSHOORN
Travel over Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn. Visit Ostrich Farm (guided). Tour vast limestone Cango Caves. Overnight in Oudtshoorn. [BD]


DAY 13 – FRIDAY OUDTSHOORN - CAPE TOWN
Breakfast. Travel Route 62 via the ‘Klein Karoo’ and Montagu to Cape Town, arrive late afternoon. [B]


DAY 14 – SATURDAY CAPE TOWN (UNESCORTED)
Full day at leisure. Opportunity for optional Day Excursion (own account).
Overnight Cape Town. [B]


DAY 15 – SUNDAY CAPE TOWN (UNESCORTED)
Full day at leisure. Opportunity for optional Day Excursion (own account).
Overnight Cape Town. [B]


DAY 16 – MONDAY CAPE TOWN
Private transfer to airport, harbour or railway station for onward journey. [B]

 

PRIVATE GAME RESERVE OPTION
DAY 3 – TUESDAY MPUMALANGA - SABI SAND CONSERVANCY

Meet game rangers. Transfer to either Lion Sands or Sabi Sabi for lunch, and afternoon game drive.
Overnight on full board basis.


DAY 4 – WEDNESDAY SABI SAND CONSERVANCY - MPUMALANGA
Early morning game drive followed by breakfast before rejoining main tour. Continue on with itinerary.

THIS JOURNEY OPERATES IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION FROM CAPE TOWN TO JOHANNESBURG, WITH DEPARTURES ON SUNDAYS  THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

US citizens do NOT require visas to travel to South Africa nor Swaziland, however, South Africa does require TWO CONSECUTIVE BLANK PAGES in your passport for entry into that country and a 3-month validity.   Anti-malaria tablets must be taken for the safari.  NO shots are required at this time.

We would require a non-refundable deposit of $500 per person to secure these accommodations and the balance will become due and payable 60 days before date of travel.  We accept all major credit cards in this office as well as cheques.
